After a long wait, the much-loved British period drama Downton Abbey will make its transition from the small screen to cinema this month.

With many of the cast reprising their roles, the new film will be set shortly after the final episode of the TV series, depicting the Downton estate in the mid-1920s and apparently centring on a royal visit.
